Dinner by Degustabox

degust
Today I am partnering with Degustabox, they send fun surprise boxes to your door and you get to sample 10 great products for pennies on the dollar. I must say, I enjoyed everything in our box, including the box itself, I felt like Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman” after she went on that shopping spree and got to open all her purchases, seriously it’s a pretty fun box to open. Our box this month was full of useful things, and I am going to tell you how we used them, but really there are so many ways to enjoy these items that you should use this post as inspiration to choose your own adventure!

pitmilk2

The Elmhurst Harvest pistachio milk was a hit at our house, I used it in my morning coffee for a day…but the next day I found the container empty in the fridge, my son had drank it all! So if you drink dairy alternatives I would recommend this.

Jif now have a cinnamon flavored peanut butter. We ate it by the spoonful, had it on whole wheat bread with blackberry jam, and used it in a peanut butter cookie recipe. I think the cinnamon is a delicious addition, and I would by this in place of our usual peanut butter, the kids were fans.

I made brown fried rice with baby bok choy and used the coconut oil, you will need:
2 cups cooked brown rice
1 lb baby bok choy roughly chopped
1 T. Vita coco Coconut oil
1 T. minced ginger
1 T. minced garlic
1 tsp. salt
2 T. Orchard Valley cashew halves we also got their trail mix, it lasted about 30 seconds upon opening the box!
Method:
In a wok or large skillet, heat coconut oil over medium high heat, add bok choy, ginger, and garlic, stir fry until bok choy is wilted and you can smell the garlic and ginger. Add salt, and rice, toss together for 3 minutes and serve! Easy and so tasty, the coconut oil gave it a buttery richness and is a great alternative to usual frying oils and butter.
soyvay2
I was pleased when I pulled out a bottle of Soy Vay teriyaki sauce! I have been a fan for several years and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. The easiest teriyaki chicken thighs ever.
You will need:
2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 Cup dill pickle juice
1/2 Cup Soy Vay veri veri teriyaki
2 green onions sliced thinly for garnish
Method:
Brine thighs in pickle juice for at least 2 hours, cook thighs on a grill about 5 minutes per side. Slice chicken and top with Soy Vay and top with green onions. Crazy good, we had zero left over and the flavors were perfect with our fried brown rice. We drank both bottles of the Topo Chico mineral water with dinner they were very refreshing, and a great beer alternative, if you want something fizzy without the buzz.

The next evening I made simple salads with salami, shredded mozzarella, olives, and pepperoncini. We used the Brianna’s Italian dressing to top our antipasti salads and there was not a piece of lettuce left in the bowls, the kids said it was the best salad they ever had. My husband who prides himself as a man with a good palate also was in agreement. This stuff is great to have on hand and makes quick dinners quicker without sacrificing taste.
haribo
My experience with Degustabox was a great one, the kids loved the Haribo sour bears, I loved that came in a resealable bag! The Wise popcorn was convenient, i preferred the sea salt but the kids loved the Cinnabon flavor. We haven’t tried the Honees cough drops as of yet, but it is nice to know that they are all natural, and safe for the kids.
